Eventually, his consistency and efforts came to fruition when he landed a spot in the India A squad which will eventually change his life for the IPL 2024.

Nowadays, Ruturaj Gaikwad was happily married to his long-time girlfriend Utkarsha Pawar last year of June at the Mahabaleshwar. Gaikwad and his wife keep their personal matters private and they rarely post on social media. For a brief time, there were rumors spreading that he was dating actress Sayali Sanjeev but it was died out when he married his wife.

Gaikwad was enjoying an unprecedented success, both in IPL 2024 and international cricket. As a result, he has an extensive collection of luxury cars including brands like Audi and BMW.

IPL Career

Ruturaj Gaikwad had his breakthrough when he was signed by the Chennai Super Kings to be a part of the squad for the 2019 season of the Indian Premier League. However, his most significant contribution to the team was during the 2021 season where he made a huge mark. During that time, he produced at least 635 runs, and as a result, CSK won the championship title.

One of the top reasons why his team was a huge success was because of his powerful attacking style of hitting. During the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League where he was hailed the top batsman for the season. Before that, the Chennai Super Kings had a drought where they failed to qualify for the finals, along with their two-year suspension.

Today, the Chennai Super Kings will keep him for the team ahead of the IPL 2024 season for 36 crore which is equivalent to $4.3 million.

International Career

After he played for his Maharashtra cricket team, for his Indian domestic cricket debut, he started his international cricket career when he was picked up for the India A men’s cricket squad.

Gaikwad made an intentional breakthrough at the Indian national cricket when he made his first appearance for T201 and ODI cricket events. He made his first appearance in the T20I format in 2021 where his side clashed against Sri Lanka.

During his One Day international debut, he played against South Africa. All in all, he made 19 appearances for T20Is and he made six appearances for ODIs. he scored 115 and 500 runs for each specific format of cricket.

Among his international career, his ODI didn’t take off successfully where he only produced an average of 19.2. In the end, his chances of making the cut for this cricket format are depressing.

Playing Style

Ruturaj Gaikwad was widely renowned for his batting skills with a free-flowing style. His batting skills were commended by his superiors and contemporaries. To be specific, his batting involves adroit touches and precise timing.

Unlike most of the batsmen right now at the IPL 2024 who are young and brash, Gaikwad exudes an air of calm demeanor. Although, he does not score often, he does so with accuracy and precision.

Lastly, his versatility on the field is unmatched. Just like many athletes in the Indian Premier League, he has a few deficiencies. The area that he needs to improve is his scoring consistency. Additionally, he needs to hone his skills in spin bowling, which is the top skill required in the Test format of cricket.

Honors

Most Runs in a Match on the Losing side (123) Twenty20 Internationals

Highest Partnership for the Fourth Wicket (141)

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s inclusion in the Test cricket squad was a clear testimony of his unrelenting skills and hard work. If only he can translate his success from his IPL 2024 and domestic cricket to his international career, it will be no surprise that he will be kept on the Indian team.

Dhawan was gifted with a decision to bring him into a higher league, more specifically the Indian Test national team ahead of the 2013/14 season. He was included in the team that clashed with the Australian team. The decision was made following his consistent performance at the 2012/13 domestic edition.

Early Life

Hardev Singh, the father of Mandeep was a professional sports coach in Jalandhar. Initially, Hardev was opposed to the idea of his son’s dream to play as a cricketer at the IPL 2024. However, when he witnessed his son perform with fervor and dedication, he eventually gave his approval, and the rest is history.

Mandeep Singh made his professional cricket debut with the Punjab team in a 2011 match against the Himachal Pradesh. During that time, he made his first-ever inning, along with an undefeated score of fifty. He became a staple in the batting roster for the Punjab squad until he became 25 years old.

IPL Career

Mandeep made his first appearance at the Indian Premier League in the 2010 season batting for the Kolkata Knight Riders. It was an unfruitful season for him as he only appeared for three matches. Eventually, he transferred to the Kings XI Punjab team and made at least 432 runs during his debut.

After a frustrating season, Madeep made his move to the Royal Challengers Bangalore under the tutelage of cricketing legend Virat Kohli. During that time, he was only placed on the sidelines and served as a backup for the main lineup.

After playing for three seasons at the Royal Challengers and scoring 365 runs, he went back to the Kings XI Punjab. He played for 13 matches in the 2019 season for the Kings XI Punjab but unfortunately had his luck run out.

The Indian Premier League became a platform for Mandeep Singh to develop his career. When he played for the Kings XI Punjab, he was hailed as the competition’s “Rising Star”. However, despite having a thriving IPL career, he is having a hard time in consistency. For the IPL 2024, he was set to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

International Career

In 2015, a tour match of the South Africa A squad against the host Indian team left fans confused throughout the game. Mandeep played in the 2015/16 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the Punjab side. The organizers were so impressed by his performance that they included him in the Indian T20I team managed to score 10 wickets in the match against Zimbabwe.

Despite having a good start for his first T20I performance, the game against Zimbabwe was unfruitful. Eventually, this defeat marks his unlucky streak in his international career despite having a thriving career at the IPL 2024

Playing Style

Mandeep Singh developed a powerful striking method, having played for IPL teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, and Kolkata Knight Riders. In the 2019 season of the IPL, he became undefeated eight times.

He is known for his versatility as a batsman, being capable of switching positions within the batting lineup. Additionally, his ability to score and take wickets is admirable, which could be useful in his matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming IPL 2024.

Indeed, he is a prolific scorer as a batsman for both his international and franchise teams. However, his inconsistency can be a long-term struggle and one of the aspects that he has to work on. Despite having a fruitful career in the Indian Premier League, his international career was not thriving.

Playing Style

Hailed by former cricketing legend Yuvraj Singh as an ‘Outstanding Player’. His achievements in cricketing career can be attributed to his incredible batting style. At the age of 19, he was a right-handed top-order batsman and it is the reason he was brought by the Punjab Kings, who were formerly known as the Kings XI Punjab.

Manan was widely known for his aggressive batting style with a quick impact from a variety of strokes. He was mostly a top-order player who had a knack for taking on the bowlers. Despite having precise batting, he lacks consistency which he needs to work on.

Due to his impressive batting style, he quickly rose among the age groups of his domestic team, Punjab. This was noted well and is the reason he was brought to play for the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024

Let’s get acquainted with this talented opener in the upcoming IPL 2024.

Profile

Full Name: Mayank Anurag Agarwal

Birthplace: Bangalore, Karnataka

Role: Batsman

Bowling Style: Right Arm Medium

Current Team:  Sunrisers Hyderabad

Personal Life

Mayank Agarwal was born in Bangalore Karnataka and he is currently 32 years old just in time for the IPL 2024. The opening batsman’s father was Anurag Agarwal, who is the president of a US$35 million healthcare firm, Natural Remedies.

He completed his studies at the Bishop Cotton Boy’s Scholl and Jain University which was based in Bangalore. His current teammates Karun Nair and KL Rahul also went to the university. At that time he was recruited to play for the 2017-18 edition of the Indian domestic competition where he scored a stunning record of 2,141.

IPL Career

He debuted for the Indian Premier League in the 2011 season where he represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. During that time, he met the cricketing legend Muttiah Muralitharan who assisted him most of the time.

His debut season at the Royal Challengers was very fruitful, during his arrival at the cricket ground, he already demonstrated his batting prowess. As a result, he scored 50 at a strike rate of above 200 in the match against the much more well-trained Mumbai Indians. However, one of the downsides to Agarwal is his lack of consistency in his batting. In fact, it took him three years to produce his second half-century in the IPL 2024.

From the 2014 to 2016 edition of the Indian Premier League, he played for the Delhi Capitals which were known as Delhi Daredevils at that time. Before the 2017 season, he transferred to Rising Pune Supergiant where he only played for just three games and was removed from the First XI due to poor performance.

During the 2018 auction of the IPL, he signed for the Kings XI Punjab following a fruitful domestic campaign. Currently, he is set to represent the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024

International Career

Agarwal made his debut in Test cricket in a match against Australia in December 2018 where he scored 76 at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, he made his appearance for the One Day Internationals in 2020 representing India in the game against New Zealand.

When looking for players to be chosen for the ICC Cricket World Cup, Agarwal was still rewarded a spot in the national side as a replacement for Vijay Shankar despite his unfruitful performance for KXIP. KL Rahul’s performance was applauded during the tournament, however, the squad still lost to New Zealand. As a result, Agalwar’s opportunity to be part of the Indian national side was postponed for a while.

Agarwal didn’t have luck for the ODI but it is proven that he can perform well in the longer format. Following an unproductive West Indies tour, he returned in the domestic series against South Africa. During that time, he scored 340 runs which also included a century.

Playing Style

Mayank Agarwal sought Virender Sehwag as his inspiration in Indian cricket, but Sehwag himself is a huge fan of Sachin Tendulkar. During his performances, he often emulates the moves and style of play of Sehwag.

He is a right-handed top-order batsman who is also a talented bowler of right-arm off-break bowling style. As an opening batsman, he is known for his aggressive batting style which is often useful in making scores. However, despite his powerful batting, he can still do so with grace and elegance.

This powerful strokeplay was demonstrated in his performance at the U19 World Cup where he became popular among fans. Despite India having a harrowing performance in the cricket competition, that moment unlocked several opportunities for the opening batsman in the IPL 2024.

Personal Life

Arjun Tendulkar is a young cricket player from Mumbai, India. He is an all-rounder who can bat left-handed and bowl left-arm medium fast.

The 21-year-old cricket player is most notable as the son of legendary Indian cricket player Sachin Tendulkar. He often receives criticism in particular related to nepotism due to his parentage.

His father, Sachin Tendulkar, is India’s greatest cricket player of all time. In 1987, Sachin was a 14-year-old bowler, and experts had doubts about him due to his short stature and body type, which is not ideal for bowling. However, cricket legends have proved that cricket is more than just being an expert in fast bowling.

Meanwhile, Arjun Tendulkar has the perfect height and body build that his father lacks, which gives him the potential to surpass his father’s legacy in terms of fast bowling. After all, India has never had a left-arm bowler since Zaheer Khan retired in 2014.

Domestic Career

The son of Sachin Tendulkar has been representing the Under-14 Mumbai team in domestic cricket. During that time, the 21-year-old cricketer has already mastered the art of fast bowling.

Being the son of the cricket legend himself, Arjun has an advantage in accessing the best cricket facilities on the planet to practice. However, he has cited that these sessions are for his own improvement.

Arjun Tendulkar has represented Mumbai in various iterations, namely the Mumbai 14s, Mumbai 16s, Mumbai 19s, and the Mumbai U23. He quickly rose through the ranks due to his innate ability to focus on fast bowling. He trained under the tutelage of Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan.

Club Career

The younger Tendulkar started his club cricket career playing for the Marylebone Cricket Club, Young Cricketers, and Ealing. Zaheer Khan taught him to be an all-rounder cricketer, allowing him to toggle between fast bowling and left-arm batting.

Finally, he has earned a golden ticket to play for his first-ever Indian Premier League squad, the Mumbai Indians. Ahead of the 2021 season, the Mumbai Indians gave him a contract and bought him for Rs 30 lakhs during the summer auction.

International Career

In 2018, Arjun Tendulkar joined the Indian national men’s cricket team’s Under-19 squad, which clashed with the Sri Lankan team.

Unfortunately, due to his age, Arjun Tendulkar has not become a member of the senior Indian national team for his international cricket career. However, he has a thriving domestic and club cricket career that is expected to surpass the legacy of his father.

Playing Style

Even though Arjun was the son of India’s cricket prodigy, Sachin Tendulkar, he was able to develop a certain playing style that set him apart from his father. Being an all-rounder, he was able to swing between left-arm batting and fast bowling.

Arjun trained under Atul Gaikwad, a coach and cricketing veteran with expertise in the science of fast bowling aerodynamics. The 21-year-old Tendulkar became a lower-middle-order batsman who also utilized fast bowling.
